HINTS AND TIPS FOR A PERFECT PARTY
WE HOPE THE FOLLOWING WILL BE USEFUL AND HELP TO ENSURE THAT YOUR CHILD HAS
THE MAGICAL PARTY YOU AND THEY WISH FOR
Timing
For younger children a two-hour disco is normally plenty of time to fit
everything into, the maxim 'leave them wanting more' applies well to parties,
though we can accommodate longer parties.
Setting Up/Taking Down
We understand that during this time you will be carrying out your own tasks
within the venue, which will mean you having to bring the Birthday child, their
siblings and even friends with you.
However it is vital for their safety that you keep them well away from the
area of the room where we are setting up and of course taking down. The
equipment can be dangerous when in pieces, with sharp edges and it is also a
trip hazard. The lights and other equipment remain extremely hot in the few
minutes after it is switched off, so please help us to prevent accidents by
encouraging them to keep a safe distance. We also suggest that even if they are
not playing "near us" that you don't allow them to run around.
Drinks
If you wish to give the children a drink prior to the party tea can you advise
the DJ and we will pause for a couple of minutes following the game or CD being
played to allow you to do this. If you do it mid activity we lose the children's
attention which makes it difficult. Stopping also reduces the risk of spillage
or accidents.
Games
While we will arrange and lead all the games, it is vital particularly with
younger children that you assist and supervise. Especially in the earlier games,
as often they will not join in on their own. We suggest that you have friends to
help and perhaps an older sibling can be left in charge of photographs.
If you are arranging the catering yourself, please can you arrange for
friends to assist with the supervision.
While we offer a Pass the Parcel service (please see booking form), we are
more than happy for you to provide it should you wish. Either way we recommend
that you do include one for your party, particularly for younger children. It
not only calms everything down, but with a wrapper per child it ensures everyone
is a winner.
Balloons
If you are decorating the room with balloons, can we suggest that you do not
place them on the floor, while they can be great fun to pop this can cause
problems for some children. Again at the beginning of the party some children
often feel vulnerable and the popping balloons don't help.
Thanks
From our own experience over many parties we find the above will ensure the
perfect party and while there may seem a long list of rules, the majority of
people run their parties this way.
